Chatter regarding the collapsed building did not cease the weeks to follow, since both the sudden destruction of the estate and the fate of the residents were of great interest. The elimination of the Ravenfall family's last heir, for no one truly counted or wished to remember the still remaining, yet exiled Lord, had marked the end of the line. Lady Xoriana's form had been utterly broken beneath the stones fallen from the mysterious eruption and laid to rest in silk and flame, the woman's favourite element.
What had become of her precious ward, no one could tell. It was almost two years after first mentioned that the name of Celysiel Ashfury, the timid apprentice who several had theorized had bewitched a Magister, was mentioned yet again. And around the girl, mythos and rumour grew, as some were eager to report that the elf had left days prior to the estate's destruction, while others were claiming that she was within, thus finding a horrible death as well. It was gossip entertaining common folk and nobility alike, until more pressing matters, such as a gap in the ocean, became of relevance.
The one individual who could perhaps shed light to it all was also the one opting for silence. Kelieren Alendis had been rather fortunate and quick during the hour of the walls' collapse, preserved by a gilded aegis of holy energy of his own conjuring. The Spire seized the archivist, introducing him to endless days of interrogation, before releasing him without any further suspicion. As arcanists claimed, a priest could not have had a hand in the collapse, as search revealed fel and Void corruption behind the destruction. The victims were pardoned and unsuspected, letting the ever absent Lord Ravenfall take the blame. For such matters had long now sparked the former Magister's interest, thus would it be a stretch to suspect that the defiled elf had now employed the appaling methods against the family he had disowned with his treason?
As for archivist Alendis, he was seen scouring in the ruins for long days, in hopes of finding and preserving relics of an once glorious house. Alas, there was little the eruption had left untouched. After a brief journey outside of the kingdom's limits, Kelieren returned to isolate himself in his small house, in an attempt to cope with the loss of the family that his own had for long generations served.
And the people of Silvermoon, once intrigued by the terrible occurence, were quick to remember the woes of house Runebinder and Firetreader, the fading of their names and descendants, as well as the treason of Lady Xoriana's twin brother, thus were also quite eager to blame it all on the curse that befell upon house Ravenfall.
